Botanicals

What does a flower mean to you? Is there any plant-based food that we eat that doesn’t have a flowering phase? When someone shares flowers with you, I would expect you to smile and feel gratitude deep inside. Or maybe you admire them on the sides of the road or enjoy growing them in your garden. That is the way I approach working with the seductive flower. A powerful part of a flower’s work is its color characteristics. B&W images of flowers, though they can beautifully capture form, doesn’t capture these spectral traits. As you explore this selection of my Cibachrome monoprints, please take the time to let all of the flower’s collective power influence your mind. Each work is a 20 x 24″ monoprint, ed. of one.
